I passed by the preK area in @fairgreendubai yesterday and spotted this delight that I painted a few years back. If you look closely there is a little thumbprint for every preK kid since the founding year with Mrs Flanagan, one of them says “DD” (my girl Dorrit Danger 🥹👧🏼 who is now in grade 4)

I love to paint trees 🌳❤️🙌🏻

Dubai rising from the desert! It’s been so long since I painted this skyline that the last one didn’t have the museum of the future in it.

Thanks to @dubai.aufdeutsch for trusting me with her family’s garden wall, this was such a fun project.

Whoever said architecture is supposed to be all straight ruled edges was wrong! This was a very loose-handed, organic process. What do you think?

My Mural design process using @procreate. It’s quite a bit faster and easier than in real life! But in the brainstorming stages it’s much easier to hit “undo” than repaint a whole wall. God bless digital resources.

Having said that, obvs it’s nothing on the real thing.

In 2015 I gave up the life of a full time artist, and in many ways, that was a sad day. But you’ll never guess what? I’m baa-aaack! What have I done since then? Some things.

> I slooooooowly finished writing/illustrating a book, stay tuned for launch in the coming weeks (thanks to @gulfpublisher)

> I tried my hand at events (with the incredible team at @femalefusionnetwork)

And so here I am, coming full circle back to a life of colorful, physical, back-breaking, soul-feeding painting. And I am circling back with the knowledge of a curator, a business-owner, a community builder, an event planner, and someone who looked rejection in the face over and over AND OVER again (the literary world can be a bit, you know, oof).

So let’s see if I can manage to do it better this time around. I think I can. What do you think?

All my illustrations are created on an A1/A2 sheets of paper. This was collaged/drawn/painted, then high res scanned, then messed with digitally a little, and voila! Lots to be seen, I love detail shots.
